Parent Education
|
Everyone is welcome to attend
our Parenting Courses. We also offer classes to
clients who have been referred to our center for
court ordered case management by the 18th and 19th
judicial circuit courts. Classes can be taught
in-home or group sessions that take place at
various locations throughout Brevard and Seminole
County. All classes are customized to meet
clients needs. The class is taught in 12 lessons
but can be customized to meet the clients needs.
Our 12 month Parent Aide program can be utilized
by clients to help with additional services once
certificate is issued. All clients are available
for our family stabilization care, which consists
of assistance with food, clothing, household
items, utility assistance and referral services.

attend our Adult and Youth Anger Management
classes. Also, classes are approved by the
18th and 19th judicial circuit courts for
mandated court ordered classes. Classes
can be taught in groups or in-home by referral
by anyone interested, from DCF, Brevard Family
Partnership or an area care partner. Classes are
customized to the clients needs. Most court
ordered classes require 12 one hour sessions.
All courses are $15 per class, or provided under
our grant for approved clients. Classes are
offered on a rotating basis, so that you can

Speaking community in overcoming the barriers of
language and culture.

Mommy Daddy and Me
Divorce Class
|
Four hour educational
program for divorcing parents who have minor
children. The program focuses on making the
transition from marriage to divorce with
minimum trauma to your children. The
Exchange Club Yellow Umbrella uses a
parenting curriculum that provides critical
preventative services to families. The
curriculum educates parents and family
members on ways to handle the additional
tasks that divorce places on childhood
development. These tasks are addressed
through lecture, video tape, role play and
discussion. The topics are: Emotional
Reactions, Involvement with the Legal
System, Changes in your Economic Situation,
The Period of Adjustment, Establishing a
Co-parenting Relationship, Helping Your
Child to Adjust, and New Family Structures.
Pre-registration is recommended, however
walk-ins are welcome. You must bring $50.00
cash, a picture ID and plan to arrive 15
minutes early. You must attend the full
session to receive a certificate of
completion.
